While writing this album's story, I introduced the idea of The Black Page several days before making the quite obvious connection to the Zappa composition of the same name, at which time I realized with terror that I could be no less heroic in attempting to play it than Supersonic Soul was in confronting his own Black Page.
Unfortunately, after a few days more, I realized that it was simply beyond my ability. So I did the next best thing (or, one might argue, the better thing): I wrote my own.
Although Damon's vocal percussion turns this track into quite a different beast, the drum part was, in the spirit of Frank's piece, originally written to be played on the drums. Sheet music is available for anyone who's interested.
